An amazing day for the Roc City skatepark Coalition in the city of Rochester.
Today the Mayor of Rochester, Lovely Warren, joined up with the neighborhood leaders and community skate supporters for the long-awaited Roc city skatepark.
It was a pleasant atmosphere as ROC skatepark Coalition saw the groundbreaking of the very first Roc City Skatepark here in midtown Rochester.
The skatepark will be located under the Frederick Douglass-Susan B Anthony Bridge, just south of the Erie Harbor Promenade, along the magnificent Genesee River.

The skate park will undoubtedly have many attributes like a mini-ramp and edge, competition bowls, and the first skate boardwalk, besides amazing public sitting for art and music performances.
They expect this project to be finished in the fall of 2020, and CP Ward is the primary contractor with the help of Stantec and New Line Skateparks Inc as a design consultant.
In a promise made years ago by the mayor she began her opening as:
“The Lord works in mysterious ways; he always finds a way; it will happen. We were one of four cities chosen by the national league of cities, the national planning experts to study Rose Fellowship. They urged us to re-engage with our Riverfront. They urged us to return to our roots and bring new life to the banks of the mighty Genesee. So when I became mayor, I promise to Roc City skatepark Coalition that we would build a skatepark in our city,”.
The Skate park is one of the Roc the Riverway Projects, which is creating a smooth connection on the banks of the Genesee River when completed, it will undoubtedly bring a new dimension of enjoyable and exhilaration to the city of Rochester.
